How to prepare the pool for the summer season and how to do it quickly and correctly - such a question for many happy owners of personal plots and cottages begins to worry already with the arrival of the first heat. The stages of de-preservation depend primarily on the type of pool and on what condition it is after winter.
Depreservation - what is it
The term re-preservation refers to a set of measures during which the operation of temporarily withdrawn technical devices is restored. When preparing the pool for the summer, all stages of restoration must be strictly observed; its uninterrupted operation throughout the entire warm period of the year depends on it.
Reconservation involves the preparation of a stationary pool, that is, one that is equipped in a designated place. Inflatable and frame pools do not require special measures for putting them into operation, although a number of rules for restoring their work still need to be followed.
Before proceeding with the decommissioning, it is necessary to prepare a number of tools and devices, these are:
- Disinfectants for pool walls,
- Coagulants - preparations for water purification,
- Chemical reagents that allow you to adjust the pH of the water,
- A tester that analyzes the quality and parameters of water,
- Personal protective equipment - rubber boots, gloves,
- Brushes and sponges,
- A net or handheld vacuum cleaner (working in water) to collect garbage.
Re-conservation is carried out when the ice in the pool completely melts on its own. It is advisable to do this immediately, since raising the average temperature to a stable 10 degrees of heat leads to the growth of mud.
1. What work should be done in the pool in the spring?
The summer time is approaching, and with it the heat, lazy wallowing in a deck chair by the pool, jumping from the bathhouse into a cool pond. Consider how to properly, quickly and economically re-preserve the pool after winter and put it in order?
The pool itself is a complex home waterworks. Caring for him is a serious and responsible matter. An illiterate pool preservation for the winter, as well as an incorrect start of the pool in the spring, will lead to serious damage to your water zone, which requires considerable costs for restoration.
Thus, before conducting these seasonal events, consult with the service managers of the company who installed and commissioned the pool. Such communications will help you avoid future problems. Entrusting your pool service to experts in their field is the best choice. The professionalism and experience of reliable craftsmen is a guarantee of a long and happy life in the pool.
2. How to re-open the pool?
The pool will be re-opened after the ice has melted in its course. The average night air temperature will hold 10-15 degrees. Under these conditions, it will be impossible to damage the pool bowl when draining water.
At this time, the temperature of the soil into which the pool is dug will correspond to the air temperature. The material of which the pool is made will not expand. First of all, it is recommended to remove plastic bottles, polystyrene and other hydraulic compensators from the pool bowl, which can be bought in specialized stores (for example, such).
Next, carry out the following measures for the re-conservation of the pool. Remove all large debris (branches, leaves) collected during the winter. This is the case if the pool was not covered with winter cover, and the pool bowl remained in the open.
Your helpers are nets for removing leaves from the surface of the water and nets for removing debris from the bottom of the pool.
If, before the winter cold, the pool was covered by a good owner with a protective film or a cover (such as this), carefully remove it so that debris from the cover does not fall into the water. Drain the water.
3. Perform a general washing of the pool bowl.
The next step is cleaning the walls and bottom with brushes using specialized chemicals (depending on the nature of the coating). There are preparations for processing ceramic tiles, and there are some for PVC films. Remember, confusion is excluded. This causes damage to the pool cover. No one needs the extra costs.
The main thing in this work is to carefully read the instructions written by the manufacturer and follow each letter of it. Wall and floor cleaners are fairly aggressive chemicals. Observe safety precautions when cleaning the pool. Wear rubber boots and gloves using a viscose sponge or a plastic brush with stiff bristles. Do not allow uncontrolled leakage of chemicals into the environment.
When cleaning the pool, pay particular attention to metal parts. At the end of work, thoroughly rinse the bowl. Remove the remaining water from the pool manually. Calcium plaque of the frame pool is well removed by alkaline cleaners. As for the brushes, you can take any. Carefully check the walls and bottom of the pool for damage, eliminate all “dubious places” in the coating.
4. Install dismantled equipment
After cleaning, release the plug-in elements from the plugs. Now you can begin to install all the equipment carefully kept in the winter: stairs, spotlights, etc. Carefully check all connections and seals.
If necessary, lubricate all joints and seals with sealant. We remove all winter accessories from the pool: plugs from pipes, put spotlights and nozzles in our nests. We blow pipes. If necessary, we collect equipment in the technical room. We change silica sand in a filter plant (in open pools this should be done once a year). We install pumping equipment and disinfection systems. After installation, it is advisable to calibrate the dosing equipment.
5. Fill the pool with water, perform primary water treatment
We fill the pool with water to the standard mark. However, there is another point - to process the bowl with a tool that prevents the appearance of algae. To do this, dilute the product with water according to the instructions, take a large sponge and thoroughly rinse the bottom and the walls of the pool with it. Allow the treated surfaces to dry completely. Now you can fill the pool with fresh water.
Before turning on the filter unit, carefully read the operating instructions and step by step follow the recommendations there. Simultaneously with the launch of the filter plant, we carry out primary water treatment. So that in the future the water does not turn green and does not bloom, measure the pH level and level it. We carry out shock (shock) treatment of water with chlorine. After some time, add drugs for continuous disinfection and algaecides.
If the drug is not combined with a disinfector, it will not perform its functions.
The flocculant is added in order to collect the small colloidal particles formed after shock chlorination into large flakes, which are then simply removed with a vacuum cleaner or filtered.
Important. Please note that the pre-filter must be filled with water before starting the pump (this is mandatory for non-self-priming pumps and recommended for everyone else). In no case is the pump allowed to run without water (dry).
6. Open the swimming season
Before the opening of the swimming season, there is very little left:
- drive the entire volume of water through the filter unit several times,
- backwash the sand,
- add fresh water
- if necessary, re-filtering.
In a couple of days, the water in the pool will come into compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards and all that remains for you is to maintain the proper level of water purity until a comfortable temperature for bathing water comes.
Well, those lucky ones who have water heating installations can already begin their new swimming season.
First of all, an external protective coating should be removed from the pool. It is better to do this together, as there is less risk of trash accumulating on the film in the water. To clean the surface of debris using a net, dirt from the bottom can be removed with a manual vacuum cleaner. After that, the visible walls of the pool are washed with disinfectants, and clean water is added to the bowl.
In cases of severe water pollution, it will have to be drained and treated with chemicals and walls and the bottom. Work should be done with boots and gloves on, as chemicals can cause burns. Severe dirt is removed with brushes. After cleaning all surfaces, they must be thoroughly rinsed with water from the hose 2-3 times. The remaining water is removed manually.
After starting the filters, the water must be treated with chemical reagents. But first you need to determine the pH level - acid-base balance, measure it with special testers. In the event of a deviation from the norm, pH-plus or pH-minus agents are poured into the nozzles.
The next step is the disinfection of water using preparations containing chlorine, oxygen or bromine. To prevent the growth of algae, algicide is used. At the last stage, coagulants are sprayed. After a day, the sediment from the bottom is removed with a vacuum cleaner and the filtration mode is activated. After 2-3 days, the pool can be used without fear.
Preparation of inflatable and frame pools
The preparation of mobile pools, that is, those that can be cleaned for the winter, is not particularly difficult. The inflatable pool should be removed, rinsed thoroughly and installed in the right place. Before installing on the ground, lay a special litter or a dense tarpaulin, this will protect the material from punctures. The washed pool must be inflated, then rinsed again with water from a hose, this will ensure the removal of contaminants from all inaccessible places. After this, the bowl can already be filled with clean water and after heating to bathe in it.
Frame pool - collapsible equipment that must be kept indoors in winter.
Commissioning of the frame pool implies:
- Preparing a flat area without debris,
- Rinse all surfaces with water,
- Setting stakes,
- Frame tension
- Filling the bowl with water.
Specialists of cleaning companies know exactly how to prepare the pool for the summer. Therefore, if the re-conservation of pools is difficult, you can turn to professionals.
